Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Aldi and others are all urgently recalling a number of products from their stores.
There are a number of reasons why brands recall products and the reasons listed below include food possibly containing mould, salmonella and undeclared ingredients.
All of the companies have asked customers not to consume the products and instead to return them to their local store in order to obtain refunds.
The Food Standards Agency said: “Waitrose & Partners are recalling Waitrose Duchy Organic Cypriot Halloumi because it contains milk which is not mentioned in English on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.”
The recall affects 225g packs of Waitrose Duchy Organic Cypriot Halloumi with the batch code BIO B0530A-3 CY0063 and a best before date of May 31, 2021.
Waitrose have said: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”
The FSA said: “Soho Florids UK Ltd is recalling Potter’s Herbals Malt extract with Cod Liver Oil as it may contain mould. The product has been sold in various retailers across the UK.”.
Soho Florids UK Ltd as said: “If you have bought the above product do not consume it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a refund or replacement.”
The FSA said: “Sainsbury’s is recalling frozen by Sainsbury’s Cooked Mussels because Salmonella has been found in some of the products in this batch.”
Sainsbury’s said: “If you have bought any of the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”
The FSA said: “Aldi is extending its recall of Roosters Southern Fried Poppin’ Chicken and Roosters Breaded Poppin’ Chicken to include all batches and all best before dates, because the products may contain salmonella.”
Aldi said: “If you have bought any of the above products do not consume them. Instead, return them to the nearest Aldi store for a full refund.”
