Matalan, Lidl and Co-op urgently recall food and child products

A number of products have been urgently recalled, including chicken, socks and even children’s seats.

Retailers and supermarkets such as Lidl, Matalan and Co-op have all been affected by the recent product recalls, issued by the Food Standards Agency.

A recall is put out if the product is dangerous or faulty and could cause harm to anyone who uses or consumes it.

Shoppers who have purchased the items are urged to return products to the store they bought them from as soon as possible, then a full refund will be issued.

Trading Standards said : “Product recalls are made by traders about products that have problems which could affect the safety of the consumer. The product should not be used and should be returned to the trader.”

Faughan Foods is recalling Glensallagh Roast Chicken Breast Pieces because Listeria monocytogenes has been found in the product.

Risk statement The presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the product listed above.

Country Products Ltd is recalling Snak Shed Milk Chocolate Coated Jumbo Raisins because they contain peanuts which are not mentioned on the label.

These products were on sale from 24 February 2020 to 24 August 2020.

If you’ve bought any of the above Pom Pom Socks, please do not use the products and return them at your earliest convenience to your nearest Matalan store where staff will be happy to give you a full refund.

This recall does not affect any other Matalan product.

Both products are duly homologated and fulfil integrally EN14344 standard.
